Family Therapy

“Hope has two beautiful daughters; their names are Anger and Courage. Anger at the way things are, and Courage to see that they do not remain as they are.”

—Augustine of Hippo

Families are the building blocks of society. And because they come in all shapes, colors, sizes, and temperaments—learning to have functional dynamics in today’s ever-changing society can be hard! Family counseling can involve the whole crew or just smaller subsets of the family system. If your family is feeling disconnected or even just stuck in negative patterns, having a therapist who is able to see the broader picture and guide towards more effective communication and fulfilling relationships can be a powerful tool.

Some of my particular areas of interest in working with families are the following:

  • Blended families
  • Coparenting during/after divorce
  • Adolescent launching
  • Grief
  • Life transitions
  • Adult child or sibling estrangement
  • Communication difficulties
  • Creating and maintaining boundaries
